People often enjoy spending time in the sun. Moderate amounts of sun exposure is healthy for most individuals since it helps produce necessary vitamins. However prolonged exposure can be very dangerous, causing sunburns or cancer in extreme cases. A way to prevent these problems is with sunscreen, however the biggest issue with this is that 50% of adults do not know when to reapply.
Intellego UV indicator is designed to let an individual know when to reapply sunscreen or head inside for the day in order to prevent sunburn and long-term skin damage. Our UV indicator measures the accumulated UV radiation a person has been exposed to during the course of the day. The patented color changing pigments reacts and changes depending upon how much UV radiation they’ve been exposed to. This helps mitigate the risk of sunburns, and permanent skin damage.
Our UV indicator is sold and marketed under our brand Smartsun. The UV indicators are offered in two forms, a wristband and stickers. It can be private labeled or sold directly to retailers and distributors.
How Does it Work?
The UV Indicators are easy to use!
- Start by placing the indicator on the skin that is exposed to sunlight, preferably your arms, or shoulders.
- Cover yourself with sunscreen as you normally would. Don’t forget to put sunscreen on the indicator!
- Next, enjoy your day! The UV indicator will track your exposure to UVA and UVB rays, during the day. Once the indicator changes to orange it’s time to reapply your sunscreen. If it changes to pink you need to go inside, and avoid the sun’s rays.
- To dispose of the UV indicator, gently peel it off and toss it in the plastics recycling bin.
You can hike, run, and play outdoors as usual. The UV indicator is water resistant, and will stay with you while swimming.
Smartsun UV products are EU Health tested and manufactured in Sweden.
