SmartSun Bands
Be Safer in the Sun

People often enjoy spending time in the sun. Moderate amounts of sun exposure is healthy for most individuals since it helps produce necessary vitamins.

However, prolonged exposure can be very dangerous, causing sunburns or cancer in extreme cases. One way to prevent these problems is with sunscreen, however 50% of adults do not know when to reapply.

Intellego’s SmartSun Bands are designed to let individuals know when to reapply sunscreen or head indoors in order to prevent sunburn and long-term skin damage. Our wearable UV indicator changes color to help you see how much UVA/UVB you’ve been exposed to during the course of the day. The patented color-changing pigments react with increased exposure to sunlight, providing a visual information so users can make smarter decisions about sun exposure. SmartSun Bands can help users mitigate the risk of over-exposure and avoid the consequences of premature skin aging or damage.

Our UV indicator is sold and marketed under our brand SmartSun and is available in two formats: wristbands and stickers. The product can be private labeled or sold directly to retailers and distributors.

SmartSun Bands: How They Work

The UV Indicators are easy to use!

  • Start by placing the indicator on the skin that is exposed to sunlight, preferably your arms, or shoulders.
  • Cover yourself with sunscreen as you normally would. Don’t forget to put sunscreen on the indicator!
  • Next, enjoy your day! The UV indicator will track your exposure to UVA and UVB rays, during the day. Once the indicator changes to orange it’s time to reapply your sunscreen. If it changes to pink you need to go inside, and avoid the sun’s rays.

You can hike, run, and play outdoors as usual. The UV indicator is water resistant, and will stay with you while swimming.

To dispose of the UV indicator, gently peel it off and toss it in the plastics recycling bin.
